Canvas Support Info

Accessing Canvas
Students may access Canvas six to nine hours after registering for courses. Users should always begin at their school's homepage, then locate the Canvas button in the top-right corner (or menu). If you have previously logged in to Self-Service on the same device, you will be passed into Canvas automatically. If you are prompted to log in, please use the same credentials as Self-Service (@gcccd.edu SSO account).
Help Navigating/Using Canvas
Users have a variety of resources available to familiarize themselves with Canvas. Choose an item below for more details:
If you are unable to log in to Canvas, please verify your @gcccd.edu SSO credentials allow you in to Self-Service. If they do not, If you are unable to reset, contact the Help Desk.
If you can log in to Self-Service, please make sure it has been at least six hours since you registered for courses before attempting to access Canvas.
If you still cannot log in to Canvas with good credentials, and you've been registered for eight hours or more, there may be an outage. Please be sure to check before escalating the issue to support.
On any screen in Canvas, users may click the Help icon (?) in the navigation menu. You will see a list of helpful resources as well as contact information. You may as well as locate Canvas contact information or open a live chat with Canvas support.
To change the way your name is displayed in Canvas, please submit the This will change how your name appears in Discussions, Announcements, and Conversations in Canvas. It will not change the display of your name on the People or Grades pages. Your actual login/@gcccd.edu SSO username will stay the same.
*Note: To change your name with the College, contact Admissions and Records.
