Spring 2026
EXHIBITION OVERVIEW
The Hyde Art Gallery and the СÓÅ´«Ã½ Ceramics Program proudly presents VIEWPOINT:
Ceramics 2026, the latest chapter in a storied ceramics exhibition series that began
in 1977. Returning for Spring 2026, this juried showcase reimagines the spirit of
the seminal VIEWPOINT exhibitions, which brought together artists from across Southern
California to explore diverse perspectives in contemporary ceramic practice. Building on the legacy of past iterations, in ‘77, ‘78, ‘79, ‘80, ‘83, ‘00, VIEWPOINT: Ceramics 2026 celebrates the enduring relevance and creative range of ceramics as both a functional
craft and a conceptual art form. From sculptural installations and experimental surfaces
to refined vessel forms and narrative-driven works, this exhibition offers a vibrant
snapshot of what it means to be a ceramic artist today.
This particular iteration of VIEWPOINT: Ceramics will be showcased in СÓÅ´«Ã½â€™s new Hyde Art Gallery, housed within the state-of-the-art Performing & Visual Arts Center. Recognized as one of the region’s premier venues for contemporary art, the gallery
provides a refined, light-filled setting that enhances the presentation of each piece.
Exhibiting here offers artists exceptional professional exposure, situating their
work within a dynamic cultural hub that draws audiences from across the community
and beyond.
