Course Objectives The student will: Create a basic prompt book, which will be used to facilitate the operation of a theatrical production. Analyze and research the era and the background of the play. Compare and contrast the different basic phases of given production, including actor rehearsal, technical rehearsal and performance. Demonstrate specific basic directions provided by the shows director, technical manager, and designers. Understand the technicians basic role in a theatrical production. Basic, practical application of lighting and sound equipment, costumes, makeup and how the combination of these aspects are used in formal theatre presentations. Basic management, organization and overseeing the components of a given production. Acting and basic stage movement methodology. Method of Instruction Instruction is completed by systematized rehearsals, arriving at a production ready for presentation to an audience. Methods of Evaluating Student Performance Participation during rehearsal and performance of production. Project performance (work methods, clear leadership skills, dedication, reliability, and competency).
